Lucy George

I’m a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Knitwear student. My collection “Carded Threads” explores the dynamic, rhythmic, and mechanical movements of yarn production, drawing inspiration from the cyclical motion of carding machines. This project celebrates bursts of fragmented patterns, colour, and layered textures. Sustainability is central, shaped by my industry placement at a textile recycling facility. I’ve utilised deadstock and recycled yarns, fully-fashioned panels, and reimagined waste within the design process. Passionate about technical innovation, I’m eager to develop my skills in Stoll and Shima Seiki programming post-graduation, and start my career within the wider knitwear industry.
