Jasmine Holland

I am a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion student. My work explores themes of femininity, authenticity, nostalgia and overcoming shame surrounding identity, as well as nudity. Towards the end of my second year of my course, I gravitated towards photography, particularly photography on older 2000s digital cameras, which influenced the direction of my final year self-devised project. I discovered that I am passionate about styling, especially vintage clothing, and I noticed that I preferred creating work that evokes emotion and has a story, rather than more polished commercial photography. This led to my self-devised project to focus on creating feelings of raw intimacy through a lens of nostalgia. Through projects such as this, I have been able to incorporate my digital skills, such as using Photoshop, with my creative skills, such as drawing and bookbinding. After graduating, I am interested in vintage clothing reselling as well as remaining in the lingerie industry.
