My work across my years at NTU have explored themes of sustainability and the damages capitalism has on the arts and climate, for my final year I'm expanding my research into how fashion plays into the capitalist system, by turning fashion into symbolic representations that can be used to alienate groups from modern society. This research led me to create my own brand, Rehabilitated soul. My brand focuses on using upcycled garments or deadstock/donated fabrics to make new clothing that doesn’t harm the planet, whilst giving back to different communities that are neglected by the government. My future aims are to be able to keep selling my clothes and donating a percentage of earnings to communities around me.
