My concept The Working World glorifies environmental workers and their achievements and efforts to save our world from deforestation as my main focus. My collection has reinvented workwear in a stylish way that morphs in natural textures of nature that are encountered everyday by these workers, into their uniforms to blend function with design. My collection aims to showcase workwear in a more stylish way so these essential workers in our societies aren’t overlooked, as they are evident in all countries and cultures. By having my portfolio shown at Graduate Fashion Week, I hope to spark appreciation for these workers, and cause eco-conscious conversations, as visually seeing a person submerged in the textures that are dying in our environment causes more alert and urgency. My portfolio will be there to demonstrate responsibility, urgency and purpose as humans and nature aren’t separate, we’re interlinked in all areas of life and it’s important not to forget and neglect that.
