Hello, my name is Anja Seymour, and I am a third-year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student. My final collection is titled Bruised, Laced, and Unbowed, a concept that explores the power of hyper-femininity as both a form of self-expression and resistance. This project draws inspiration from hyper-feminine queer culture and the bold, transformative energy of pop icons. In particular, I have been influenced by artists like Chappell Roan, who use hyper-femininity as a performance tool to challenge norms and spark transformation within both queer and mainstream contexts. Through this collection, I have been able to celebrate and express my deep love for queer culture and the fashion icons who have shaped it. I believe my project highlights the significant impact that popular fashion figures have on society, shedding light on their role in pushing boundaries, inspiring change, and redefining what fashion and identity can mean in today's world.
