I am a MA Fashion Design student dedicated to shedding light on the experiences of transgender women, who frequently face societal misunderstandings and negative perceptions. Through my project, 'TRANS 101', I aim to convey the message that transgender women are no different from straight men and straight women. Utilizing fabric patterns and forms of design, I challenge societal norms and traditions, creating a vibrant and empowering representation of transgender pride. My work celebrates strength and resilience, intended to counter sadness and promote understanding and acceptance. As a passionate designer combined with my diverse background in fashion/costume designing, fashion styling, film, and commercial production, including experience in the brand consulting industry has enabled me to understand and implement successful communication strategies. I can create designs that showcase my creativity and resonate with my intended audience.
