I am a postgraduate Fashion Design student with experience in bridal/formal apparel design and fashion illustration. Prior to my postgraduate studies, my practice was in the area of bespoke bridal wear with a focus on a primarily Nigerian market. As a member of a minority ethnic group in Nigeria, my final project explores the intersection between bridal design and my culture as I attempt to rediscover my heritage through the lens of fashion. During the course of my practice, I employed the use of traditional textiles, collaborating with traditionally trained weavers to make it possible. After graduating, I hope to expand on my project, especially in an academic capacity as I work towards building a career in bridal and formal apparel design.
