I am an MA Textiles student. I enrolled with the intention of stepping out of my comfort zone and learning something new. Designing with a purpose has always been my passion, and my MA project has given me the opportunity to do just that. 'The TacTile Project' is a series of sensory tiles for children on the Autism spectrum. These tiles can be used as wall panels in the child's playroom or as a sit-down activity for relaxation. Through this project, I have learned to be confident, think big, experiment, and expand my horizons. During my course, I developed my print design skills, enhanced my hand embroidery skills, and learned to work with materials like silicone. As an international student, approaching a design project from a new perspective has been extremely interesting and exciting. The MA course has given me an amazing opportunity to network with peers and professionals in the industry. I am excited to embark on a new journey in the textile industry after graduating from NTU.
