Whilst studying Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University, I have had the opportunity to gain deeper knowledge on sustainability, this has quickly become one of my passions and an element I always strive for within my garments. My designs are contemporary and practical with a deep focus on durability and minimal impact on the environment. My project ideas are frequently drawn from the fashion industry’s need for change, in a world of fast fashion where mass production is at an all time high, I hope to be a stepping stone in creating a slower and fairer future. My passion for slow making can be seen frequently throughout my work from my use of hand-knit or crochet pieces, but also within my processes such as laser printing, to avoid using chemicals that are harsh on the environment. I’m excited to further my knowledge and continue exploring the path of sustainability after I complete my degree.
