I am a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Management student at Nottingham Trent University, originally from Nottingham, where football culture and local identity have always played a significant role in my community life. These surroundings, combined with my interests in gender, sustainability, and the cultural dynamics of the fashion industry, have informed my dissertation, which examines the intersection of fashion, football, and politics. My research investigates how misogynistic stereotypes, alongside branding, identity formation, and entrenched cultural norms, contribute to unsustainable environmental practices within this space. As this remains a substantially under examined area of study, my work aims to address an existing academic gap and encourage further research. Following industry experience, I intend to return to higher education to pursue advanced study in this field, drawing on both professional insights and my personal engagement with football and fashion cultures.
