Kara Wilkins

Hi, I’m Kara Wilkins, a BA (Hons) Graphic Design student at Nottingham Trent University, originally from Basingstoke. I’m a curious and driven designer interested in creating bold, engaging visuals that communicate ideas that tell meaningful stories. I am particularly interested in branding, packaging, UX/UI, and motion design, where I enjoy pushing concepts through experimentation and developing strong visual identities. I’m also drawn to working across new software and processes, including risograph printing, using its textures and imperfections to add depth and character to my work. This year, I developed Elias, a self-tan brand inspired by tremella mushrooms and shaped by my sister’s experience with eczema, with packaging that reflects the organic form of the mushroom itself. As I move into the creative industry, I’m looking forward to collaborating, taking risks, and continuing to refine a distinctive and thoughtful design voice while growing further as a designer.
