I have learned that I have great aspirations in film with practical design, imagery, costume design, effects and controversy and censorship. I discovered this from focusing this on 2nd year project and opened my eyes to the ideas of working fashion and effects within film. I have done controversy in cinema last year and was interested in the political, cultural and morals shown in those films and heavily expressed it in my work using inspiration from different subcultures created by film. I would like to push myself within the limits of controversy in cinema, using subcultures created from ‘banned’ or censored films like splatter and Japanese cyberpunk, I want a visually interesting line-up that shows the effects portrayed in these kinds of films. It will need to be eye-catching but visually unappealing using techniques from heaving texture and interesting yarns coinciding unknown or niche cinema as inspiration.
