Hello! I’m Ben. I’m a final year student at Nottingham Trent University and during my time at NTU I’ve been able to develop a deep appreciation for the cultural power of design. I grew up and currently live in Derby, which is a city that does not have a large or thriving art scene, but I’ve always found myself drawn to visual arts and design. Often when I was younger, I would spend hours in book shops just to look at the designs on the covers. My final year projects have focused on subjects both related to my interests and which I find important such as politics, censorship, and community. I often like to read and watch entertainment that focuses on our relationship with arts and technology, such as Orwell or JG Ballard, and how they can be used for both good and bad. Combined with my love for 20th century Polish graphic design, these interests have heavily influenced both my creative approach. I hope to work in the design industry and continue to develop my skills.
