I’m Abby, a multi-disciplinary graphic designer and recipient of the Cameron Day Charitable Trust grant. My work is driven by a desire to push myself and find inventive solutions to briefs while blending digital and analogue processes. In my project, It’s About Time, I combined riso-printed gradients with UV-printed type to explore how the Ancient Greeks experienced time. My thorough process is guided by my own insights, shown in my project, ZIWI, which was inspired by the country I grew up in and my struggles with eczema. The result is a low-alcohol beer that uses beneficial New Zealand plants to soothe the body, which was shortlisted by BrandOpus in the Hatch competition. My love of reading led me to create a book cover design system for the Penguin Book Cover Design competition, which won second place and saw my work featured in Creative Review. Now, in the creative industry, I want to continue exploring new processes while creating packaging, print designs, layouts and branding.
