Rebecca McGlinchey

Heritage is the foundation of my identity as a designer, shaping both who I am and the designer I aspire to become. As an Irish textile designer, I see textiles not just as materials, but as cultural legacies connecting generations. My graduate collection, Where The Wee Folk Wonder, draws from Irish folklore, creating bespoke girls' occasion wear designed to be cherished and passed down like the stories themselves. My practice blends digital embroidery with handcrafted techniques to create heirloom quality textiles with precision and innovation. Throughout my degree, I have been highly commended, winning the National Embroidery Awards, becoming a Madeira-sponsored student, a Society of Dyers and Colourists alumna, and winning a placement at NEXT. These experiences drive my passion for excellence and my desire to pursue a career in digital embroidery within the fashion and costume industries.
