Rooted in nostalgia and emotions my project 'Entwined in Memory' gains inspiration from treasured pieces I have collected throughout my childhood. Since my early years I have developed a keenness for craft, making and reuse of items, especially those precious to me. For the duration of my studies, I have continued my passion for slow making by exploring hand embroidery techniques which has had a large influence in my work. Sustainability is held at the forefront of my process by using pre-loved fabric items and natural dyes to create a unique collection of quilted jackets and quilts to be heirloom pieces which are cherished and kept in families for years to come, mended and adapted to suit the current use. As I go forward in my career, I hope to be able to explore further ways of incorporating continuing life cycles of existing materials.
