Vanishing Planet is a collection raising awareness about habitat loss and its ripple effects on ecosystems, including ours. I created a series of interior furnishing and fashion samples exploring endangered ecosystems. My project asks, “How can design be a place for beauty and activism?” My passion began in my second year after studying Less is More by Jason Hickel, where the quote “If we lose the insects, everything will collapse” resonated with me. Using traditional hand painting, digital print, embroidery, and sustainable fabrics like linen, organic cotton, and silk, I created an eco-friendly, high-quality collection. Specialising in print has strengthened my skills in pattern repeat, motif creation, and cross-disciplinary working. Designing with purpose and inspiring change is central to my work, using textiles as a tool for education. With the skills gained from my degree and graphic design experience, I aim to pursue a career in the creative industries, whether in textiles or beyond.
