Annie Buckeridge

Hi, I'm Annie. Firstly and most importantly, I'm an aspiring animator. I love the wobbliness and the imperfections of stop motion; particularly the works of Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin (among many others!) Stop motion, I believe, is an underappreciated form of storytelling. Its uniqueness and its humbleness can be extremely inspiring for a younger audience and it will become increasingly sought after. I would love to bring stop motion to a wider audience and increase its appeal within mainstream culture. Throughout my work, it's clear I am also intensely inspired by the rural village of Malpas that I grew up in. From being surrounded by lush green hills and rows of corn in the fields, the city of Nottingham was intense but a welcome change. I found comfort creating 3D sculptures that reflect the countryside and the people that are away in it; back home, my family who imparted their love for stop motion onto me are incredibly supportive and inspiring.
