As a textile designer specialising in print design, my work explores colourful geometrics and repeat patterns, whilst integrating mark making and emphasis on scale within my explorations. Taking inspiration from geometry, glass structures and decorative objects within our home, I have taken a contemporary approach to designing for interiors, and the benefits colour can have on our wellbeing- whilst also looking to the Memphis art movement and the Bauhaus as influences. Working with industries on live briefs with brands such as NEXT and Sainsbury’s Tu has given me abilities to work in a commercial setting and designing for a range of consumers. I also was awarded a placement in second year with NEXT, where I was able to gain an insight into how a high street brand creates collections, from trend research to fabric sampling. Moving forward I am excited to gain more experience within the industry after graduation and within the future.
