My name is Anna Horackova, I am a recent graduate who studied BA (Hons) Design for Stage & Screen (Costume Design and Construction). I have a strong passion for texture and colour seen throughout the natural world and this has inspired many of my projects through the use of embroidery, print and breaking down. Over my time at university, I have been able to develop my sewing and textiles skills whilst finding new skills such as fitting, pattern drafting, millinery and mask making. Alongside construction processes I have found a love for design, being able to enhance a character through props and shape, using my historical and cultural knowledge as well as construction knowledge to make and design costumes that are fit for purpose. I feel strongly about the use of sustainable practices in creative industries and chose to reuse fabrics when possible. I hope to take these skills and enthusiasm and work in costume construction for theatre, specifically on a large scale West End show.
