My final collection is designed for men as I aspire to be an accessory designer in menswear. Italian Renaissance art inspired my concept, specifically sculptures and statues, and uses colour palettes derived from ageing metal, stone and paintwork. The patterns are influenced by both the stone surfaces and the Japanese art of Kintsugi, ‘to repair with gold’. My creative signature is demonstrated here in the bold textures created by laser etching from images of stone and by experimentation in depths of engraving. The shapes are classic yet carry the contemporary and urban style I favour to work with. Gold fittings enhance the golden Kintsugi fissures in the leather work for a luxury appeal.
