Within Kathryn's practice she specialises in knitwear taking inspiration from personal experiences and a sense of place. Kathryn’s work is often influenced by a surface details and textures. Her work heavily features bold colours and patterns as she challenges traditional knitwear techniques such as intarsia. Kathryn also has a varied skill set within virtual sampling and virtual design development utilising both the Shima Seiki Apex system and CLO 3D during her degree. Throughout her MA Kathryn has pushed her Shima Seiki knowledge further into machine programming and machine operation, allowing her to have an understanding of the entire design development process.
