My concept is based on a personal desire of not wanting to grow up. I explored my attachment to transitional objects, looking at the security and comfort that they give me growing up. I was interested in dolls which led me to explore advertising and how reality is blurred. I highlight this in my collection by using scale, fun, and vibrant primary tones such as those portrayed in Gary Cards ‘Hysterical Exhibition’. I also took influence from children’s artwork and incorporated it in my graphic print. I chose to translate nostalgia through the crochet fabric which draws on the quality of a security blanket. The recycled acrylic flowers are inspired by my childhood teething rings.
