Project ""Salt Air"" is so special to me. I treat this like an awareness campaign about Sri Lanka's sea pollution. The sea and coastal life are a major part of my life, as I'm coming from a coastal city in Sri Lanka. While Sri Lanka delivers stunning beaches and shorelines, I have witnessed pollution in certain corners. With this project, I'm researching where we are at and what is happening. With the research, I found out certain events that caused major sea pollution. The ""Express Pearl ship sinking"" in 2022 is a great example of that. Thousands of sea creatures died, and a huge number of microplastics were released into the sea because of it. With this project, I'm creating awareness by discussing these issues. Kandyan Dynasty is very important for Sri Lankan fashion, and I will be getting inspiration from that era for design silhouettes while filtering every design decision through sustainability to the maximum level.
