A multi-media textile artist focussed on exploring the landscapes and built environments of Cornwall with textile art outcomes. Focussed on exploring materials, layering and merging organic and constructed imagery to mimic the extensive development of the towns in Cornwall to keep up with the demands of tourism. Developed by collating an expansive collection of photography and relying heavily on drawing to develop the visual identity of the project. Mixed media approaches including embroidery, print techniques and ceramics utilised to create a collection that combines softer natural materials with elements of a more rigid subject matter. Layering and distressing fabrics creates soft natural textures enhanced with geometric motifs to integrate the narrative.
