My name is Mia Jenkins, and I am an MA ANIMATION student at Nottingham Trent University. I started my animation journey wanting to specialise in 2D hand drawn animation, but over the last few years of making student films I have fell in love with storytelling and film making. I am passionate about creating organic looking, unique films with heartfelt stories, using a multimedia approach to immerse the audience within the narrative. Creating whole films as an individual and working with music composers, I have a strong understanding and appreciation of the pipeline and what it takes to make a successful film. I love experimentation within animation, and I hope to bring a distinctive style to the industry that makes my work recognisable. My current film 'Life Beckons Softly' pushes the mixed media approach further, combining real film sets I built with digital backgrounds and 2D animation. The story is about learning to appreciate what matters most in life and adapting to change.
