Hi, my name is Izzy Davies! This MA Illustration course has been able to show me what I adore and that is folklores and myths! I enjoy interpreting old folktales and creating new stories based on them. Folktales have been told through many generations, changing meaning and message constantly. These tales were told as warnings of danger or to inspire hope. I want to be able to showcase beautiful and scary tales that awaken the imagination in the reader. I enjoy using lino printing to carve pieces that represent a single moment in a story. During this course, I have developed my skills using watercolour, which has led me to the challenge of creating my first graphic novel inspired by a Welsh tale about a mermaid. I hope to use the knowledge from this course to become a great art and design teacher and continue my journey learning more about folklores!
