I am an MA Textiles student at Nottingham Trent University. This body of work grew directly from relocating from India to Nottingham. Arriving somewhere entirely new sharpened my awareness of the city's visual language in a way that shaped everything that followed. My practice sits at the intersection of auto-ethnography and surface design, drawing from overlooked urban details: cracked pavements, tangled cables, layered stickers and road markings. These became the foundation for a collection exploring the duality of overwhelm and comfort, two emotions that lived side by side throughout my first year here. I work with digitally printed repeat patterns combined with hand, machine, and multi-head embroidery, translating the textures of the city into a cohesive interior textiles collection. After graduating, I hope to design narrative-led collections that bridge personal storytelling with contemporary interiors.
