Emma Howson

My passion for theatre stems from the ability of live performance to transport audiences to different worlds. As a designer, this drives my ambition to make ideas come to life, whether these be my own ideas, or those of another talented designer. I have a thorough creative process and enjoy in depth research to create designs with attention to detail. Recently I have designed and built the set for Ravers at Nottingham College as a part of National Theatre Connections, using mainly repurposed materials. This fuelled my desire to realise designs and I therefore hope to progress in my career by exploring making, scenic art and construction. I believe theatre should be inclusive and accessible, having explored political theatre in my dissertation. I strive to be a part of creating theatre that supports these beliefs in a sustainable way.
