My name is Ruben Evans and I am a photographer based in Nottingham. My body of work specializes in the relationships between people and the impact humans have on the environment. My practice is focused on constructing staged narratives, taking inspiration from art, books and films. It combines portrait, landscape and still life photography, using 120mm film, digital media, hand-bound books and lino prints. By having complete control over the final form of the publication, it strengthens the impact my work has on the viewer. The project seeks to shift the perspective of viewers by spreading awareness of the subjects discussed through my art. The presentation of my work in a linear narrative allows the viewer to foster a personal connection; encouraging the development of new links within the work, adding to the wider discourse surrounding the project.
