Phoebe Butler

Embroidery specialist, my graduate collection has given me the opportunity to explore luxury design. My concept 'oriental appreciation', delves into Japan's festivals and garden life creating beautiful luxurious pieces considering how movement is made within floral and pond life. Using a combination of Multihead embroidery, digital prints and AI generated designs from my visual research, this fulfils the beauty of Japanese culture. Inspired by visits to London and the Stitch Archive, I have discovered new techniques and processes that I can immerse myself into. Previously, I have developed key elements through material choices and analysed the power of colour to connect each project. For instance, a past project I have worked on is a feminine lingerie collection exploring florals in a different light. Another opportunity I had was working for an industry live brief Next Menswear. This enriched my professional development investigating the true meaning of fabrication and application.
