Aliyah Jaffer

Hi! I'm a final BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing and Branding student. I've dedicated this entire year to black women. As one myself, this year has been one to explore my identity because growing up, being black wasn't something I was associating with myself. I was Eritrean, and being black was something different because I didn't look like the black girls I saw on TV. I've been developing the understanding that they were the same all along and that being black is incredibly diverse. My time on FMB has given me tools, and I want to use them to push for diversity in PR and events (the aspiration is to do so in New York) to pioneer a connection between brands and audiences of minority groups. Additionally, FMB and PR have collaboration at their core, which I believe is a must to become creative, and I intend to be a part of it as much as possible in my future career.
