Mollie Plummer
I am currently a final year BA (Hons) in Contemporary Fine Art student at Nottingham Trent University. My artwork looks into my own personal narrative and mental health. I hope to not only explore my intimate life stories but encourage an acceptance of other people’s experiences, allowing individuals to feel open to express similar issues. I aim to show a way to empower my past, and to show others that they are not alone. The context between each piece I do and the artwork itself has equal value so I try not to focus my practice around one medium. I explore homelessness, depression, relationships, addiction, and grief, but of course these are umbrella terms for larger topics. I aim to become an art teacher working with vulnerable students to get them through their day to day lives. Previous works include; ‘A story of perpetual change within destitution begins very simply, it begins, with a house’, ‘The Beeston’, 'What's the value of recollection?' and "A Hazy Memory'.
