Lottie Burns
I am a final year BA (Hons) Fashion Knitwear Design & Knitted Textiles student. My background in textiles cultivated my love for designing and manufacturing fabrics and transferring onto the Fashion Knitwear Design & Knitted Textiles course allowed me to combine this with with my interest in fashion design, teaching me new skills such as draping and pattern cutting. Through the last two years I have discovered new ways of creating and designing and in my major project have found my niche in modular fashion. This concept has really driven my design process by looking at the different possibilities of ways that garments can be worn, allowing the wearer to experiment with fashion and cultivate a sense of individuality. This has been largely inspired by my drive as a designer for a more sustainable approach to fashion and how we as consumers view clothes, an avenue that after university I hope to pursue by using my creative design and making skills within a sustainable fashion brand.
