Leonie Antoniadou
I'm a painter in my last year at university studying BA (Hons) Fine Art, and the feminist movement influences my work. Over time, I developed a strong fondness for the controversial and political issue of abortion rights that continues to be debated today. The decision to have an abortion is a serious one, specific to each woman's situation, and cannot be imposed by law. Through my art, I'm demonstrating how women struggle for their rights concerning abortion in an ever-changing environment. During my time at university, my love for abstract paintings grew more and more as I began to break out of my comfort zone. Back in Cyprus, where I was born, I was allowed to display my artwork in a gallery for young aspiring painters. Since then, I've seized any chance to present my art, whether it be through local exhibits, websites, or trade shows. I am constantly looking for venues to showcase my art anywhere, at anytime.
