Kana Hasegawa
I am a MA Fashion & Creative Pattern Cutting student. I have worked globally for a variety of fashion brands before. I have a passion for pattern cutting and garment construction for longevity, modern garment production processes and computer pattern cutting. In my personal project, I compared different pattern cutting methods that are developed in different eras and regions to understand what makes garments beautiful and to make them last. I made a suit by using patterns that are structured by combining different pattern cutting methods. Although the suit is inspired by tailoring principles, it is produced by considering modern garment production processes such as using CAD and machine sewing. During this course, I worked as an intern for Cunnington and Sanderson and learnt draping techniques and developed my garment construction skills. After graduating, I look forward to having an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills that I learnt through my study and working experiences.
