Jasmin Berrill
I am currently in my final year, studying BA (Hons) Fashion Knitwear & Knitted Textiles. My final major project, 'Elemental', has been inspired by the motifs and traces created by nature, both organically and through interaction. Having always been inspired by minimalism, this project has been an exploration of pattern. Utilising high-quality, natural fibres to produce a sophisticated and subtle collection of knitted fabrics that reject trend cycles. I have always enjoyed the technical challenges involved when knitting, especially when creating complex fabrics, and this year has highlighted that for me. I hope to continue learning, working with others, and exploring new possibilities within knitted textiles and beyond. My time at university has taught me the importance of sustainable practices and innovation within my field, and I aspire to be a part of a generation of designers where this is paramount.
