I am a final year student on the BA(Hons) in Fine Art. I have a long background in sport and I want to educate on the culture, as well as having to push my body to extreme measure to be able to perform. My interested sport is netball, a sport which is discriminated with being a female only sport and is not as the same standard as other sports like football, I want to educate more about the stigma behind female sports. My practice is developed from the body and what I put it through daily to be able to create my art. With the range of statistic, I collate when playing netball through the use of heart rate monitors and a series of lab reports to research my body and load. Using processes such as digital prints, mono printing and performance pieces. I create this kind of art to bring the key elements into my life together as I overlooked the impacts sport has on the body.
