Emily Evans
I am a woven textile specialist, with an interest in capturing the textures, quirks, and beauty of nature in my designs. The sophisticated interiors collection 'The Finer Things' encapsulates the importance of texture within design, by zooming in on nature’s imperfections and intricacies, which can be missed when looking at the bigger picture. 'The Finer Things' collection takes influence from Wabi-Sabi, where nothing is imperfect including moss, fungus or peeling bark on trees. Working with hand and digital weaving, this collection promotes the missed details, within the texture and fibres throughout the weaves. During my degree I have found a love for interior design and a creative eye for collating fabrics together for a room set. Through industry live briefs, I have gained a more professional style, and winning the Line Nilsen brief in my final year resulted in a placement in her studio. I look forward to exploring future opportunities in interior textiles buying and merchandising.
