Anya Bell
I am a final year BA (Hons) Fine Art student and an abstract rural landscape painter. I use art to re-connect back to nature and explore the relationships between a rural landscape and a sense of place through material and paint. Creating art that interprets the land taken from the wild and working British landscape. specifically, Derbyshire where I live. I take pride in interpreting a place, using an earthy, light colour palette to create a relaxed atmosphere. I frequently forage for materials to create my own pigments, finding ways to add meaning within my work through organic material and abstract expressionism. During my studies I worked for the Bonington Gallery, gaining invaluable experience in the curation of exhibitions. I recently held a collaborative exhibition: 'Return to the Landscape' for the Twitchel Gallery and was shortlisted for the Freelands Painting Prize. I'm going into teaching, as my ambition is to make a difference into someone else’s life through art.
