Abigail Gordon
My work focuses on representing the future using the lens of high fantasy and science fiction; drawings, lighting, and casting silhouettes are the mediums to visualise this fantastical foretelling. Raised in Norfolk, I had an innate fascination with the surrounding landscape. Accompanied with an interest in literature (in particular the works of Ray Bradbury and Ursula Leguin) I found I could draw and paint scenes featuring strange stories in these landscapes, which propelled my ability in creating artwork. Between my time at KES sixth form and the duration of the Fine Art course at Nottingham Trent University, I developed skills transferable to set design for television. Gaining experience on sets such as Back In Time (2020) and The Great British Sewing Bee (2022) cemented my direction into working in film and television design. I hope these transferable skills will help situate me in roles where I can create worlds within this industry.
