Living in a post-pandemic society is extremely overwhelming - the unstoppable rush is back. Thrown back into our hectic, ‘normal’ life, we were never allowed the time to adjust nor heal. Society created a structure that moves too fast, and lockdown allowed us to reflect on this and change for the better. My work is about acknowledging that we can't, nor shouldn't go back to normal. Through the process of exploring and expressing my own post-lockdown anxieties, my mindful methods are slow and ensure a time for me to reflect and heal. And by using slow-making techniques, this encourages slower production, slower decision making, and slower life in general. Inspired by my lock-down surroundings – my mother’s garden, so all illustrations and fabrics are nature and gardening inspired. With an interest in art therapy, I want my works to project ideas surrounding a reflective and optimistic mentality.
