Rebecca Morley
My work over the past year has been heavily focused on female expression, with a particular emphasis on decades and pop culture. I have created a variety of work around this subject matter using photographs, interviews, and music. My current series explores teenage girl identity and culture, focusing on several topics that are prevalent throughout these years. I have worked with a variety of formats, though within this series I captured the nostalgic and dreamy feel of youth using 35mm colour film, Cokin filters, and polaroids, producing a narrative that explores crushes, friendship, getting ready, diaries, and birthdays. My photographic approach encouraged me to engage in other creative outlets, such as making zines, which I have done throughout my last year of University and will continue to do in the future. I'm always willing to try something new to support my current and future creative pursuits.
