My project is titled ‘Anti Opulence’ which portrays the tarnished and dark history of the Catholic Church. The church presents itself through grand architecture and artisan embellished garments as a constitution of perfection and opulence. My approach to sustainability is to fully utilise each fabric and produce no waste and also using second-hand pearls, beads and chains found from pre-owned necklaces. My future aspirations involve working within a team of creatives collectively working together to create slow, sustainable and ethically produced knitted accessories. I aim to have the opportunity to connect with Irish designers and create made to order, custom pieces which will focus around fabric and detail.
