Molly Hyatt
A passionate and aspiring textile designer specialising in print design for fashion, with an intense love and interest for colour and detail, as shown through her bright florals in her final project. She also has a great interest in embroidery. Her final project LEATHER BOYS CHINTZED explores gender fluidity by taking a stereotypically feminine image such as a chintz floral and designing it for a menswear collection. Strictly using industry offcuts and scraps from the fashion accessories bin at NTU, her project aims to use leather sustainably. This project helped Molly to push her drawing and painting skills through the renewal and transformation of her final product, a leather jacket. Giving it a new lease of life, using her hand-drawn qualities throughout, producing a unique edge and contemporary feel. Molly is eager to develop a career within the textile industry further.
