I am Mayke Vos, a final year animation student who specialised in 2D puppet creation and visual development. I build my own 2D characters in illustrator and rig them in CelAction. For my vis dev drawings I use procreate or Photoshop. When I am not drawing I am usually with my dog, who became the subject of one of my short animations (and who will star in multiple more). My works are inspired by historical cultures from various eras and locations and I like to research the little details I am drawing to make them as accurate and meaningful as I can. For example, I created a character wearing clothes that require assistance to get into, based on real garments from the 16th century. Did historical people get ticklish having someone dress them? I don’t know, but I could make a funny drawing about it.
