I was raised along the coast where I was surrounded by nature. This spurred my creative thinking and art became a passion, an outlet for me to express my emotions. I think this course has cemented the idea of helping others with art and unlocking their hidden potential. I have found that the first year allowed me to explore what materials I liked to work with, the meaning I wanted to portray and the issues I wanted to approach in my work. During the second year I lost the passion for art because of the lockdown which had a knock-on effect with my mental health. During my third year, I stopped trying to be metaphorical with the work and became quite literal with the meaning of the work, I was able to have fun with it. In doing this course I have come to realise that I want to become a tutor of fine art, with the next step being applying for a PGCE in my chosen subject area.
