My photography work is rooted in documentary and portraiture practices, trying to speak actively to current social climates. My work for this series in particular focuses on Generation Z and the socio-economic climate that surrounds them, born out of an anxiety for my future and that of my friends and peers around me. ‘Baseless and Self-Obsessed’ explores this climate whilst simultaneously readdressing and renegotiating the often negative stereotypes given to the generation, perpetuated by the right-wing media. I mostly work with analogue practices, favouring the qualities that medium format colour-film offers my photographic aesthetic and the slow, considered approach that comes with the medium. My strength lies within environmental work, opting for a natural aesthetic and creating a relaxed environment within my shoots.
