I have always loved crochet and hand knitting and wanted to use my skills to create fun & exciting knit installations. I enjoy using bright colours to evoke joy and excitement, intriguing the viewer to look closer. This collection is inspired by cells and organisms under a microscope, playing with the juxtaposition of micro and macro scale. Different textures and contrasting medias are used throughout the fabrics to encourage an immersive sensophathic play experience for children. Sensory elements are created by using a wide variety of 3D knitted techniques and embellishment which reused objects such as beads, pom poms and rubber bands.
