Portrait and fashion photography are two areas in which I am really interested. I enjoy experimenting with different locations outside of the studio. My recent project 'As You Are' works to strike a balance between the promotional photographs we see in magazines and the amateur influencer images we see on social media in order to create a more achievable standard. We often compare ourselves to the images we see in magazines, and we frequently use them as a starting point for developing our own style, yet the ideals they promote are unrealistic and have a big impact on how we see ourselves. My work strives to make fashion photography more accessible by using high-street clothing, everyday locations, and photographing friends. With little guidance, the women in my images style themselves in what they find comfortable and would wear on a daily basis to convey as much of their true selves as possible.
